What is Home Care?
Home care is personal, in-home attendant care services. Qualified individuals come into your home and assist you with day-to-day living skills.
Home Care vs. Facilities/Institutions
No matter what you call an institution — residential care, group homes, long-term care facilities — it is still institutionalized living. The lights go on and off at certain times, food is served on a schedule, and family or friends will sign in and out.
YPS provides one-on-one personal attendant care services. At best, facility services are one-to-eight, however, they can be up to one-twenty. YPS provides services to you, the client. In-home care is based on your needs, wants and time frames.
Home Care vs. Health Care
- YPS provides services that assist people with their day-to-day living skills. Nurses, RNs, LVNs, OT, and PT will not assist in the day-to-day living skills that In-Home Care Attendants provide.
- The cost of skilled nursing far exceeds the cost of In-Home Attendant Care Services.
- YPS provides one 24-hour shift or two 12-hour shifts, at shift rates, when 24-hour care is needed. Home Health Care Providers typically provide three 8-hour shifts, charging by the hour, when 24-hour care is required.
- YPS provides a personal touch allowing the family and loved ones of the person receiving care to decide the times of the services needed, and to remain in charge of the care. Home Health Providers generally dictate to the families and the person receiving care, the services they will provide and the times that they will provide them.
